Asbestos work with low dust level, PCB and lead containing material (training and instruction)
Combination course in safety and handling of asbestos, PCB and lead-containing materials
Instruction in working environment and safety when working with (exterior) asbestos, PCB, and lead.
For employees working with short-term asbestos tasks with low dust levels, there is no requirement for an asbestos certificate, but employees must still have documented sufficient training and instruction. The same applies to employees working with PCB- and lead-containing materials.
After attending this course participants can work with:
- Short-term maintenance and repair tasks involving materials that are not easily crumbled.
- Encapsulation and wrapping of asbestos-containing materials.
- Removal of undamaged materials without destroying them, where asbestos fibers are tightly bound (cement roof panels, slate panels, façade panels, etc.).
- Cleaning in connection with/after asbestos work and related waste management.
- Monitoring and control of the air as well as collecting and analyzing samples to determine whether a given material contains asbestos (sampling).
- Other small tasks involving asbestos-containing materials that do not involve demolition (also called "low dust level work").
- Tasks involving PCB-containing materials.
- Tasks involving lead-containing materials.
This course provides this training and instruction, ensuring that the company complies with BEK 728 regarding changes to the regulation on occupational health training for asbestos work that does not require an asbestos certificate and meets the requirements for working with substances and materials.
This means that the participant will gain knowledge about health risks associated with exposure to asbestos, PCB, and lead, and learn how to plan and perform the work so that people at the workplace and in the surrounding area are not exposed to dust, gases, or vapors from asbestos-, PCB-, or lead-containing materials.
From January 1, 2025, new asbestos regulations will come into effect, requiring authorization for certain tasks. This means that the company must have authorization, a quality management system, and a technical supervisor to perform these tasks. Both the technical supervisor and the performing employees must have an asbestos certificate (4-day AMU training).
